It has been awhile

To pen something it is not easy was what it seems. Before I started this journey, my normal daily routine using my trusted 1 gen IPAD, I used to scroll other people blogsites, either to see their opinions, current issues and also to get some new ideas. It has been a month since from my first. It has been a while.....

Occasionally I would have put some thoughts in their comment boxes which I think important but not always. I stick with a principle that unless you have something important to say and backed with credible sources only then I would put my 2 cents thoughts into the comments. If not I just skip through.
Like music, it has several genres to suit people preferences. It is no different in types of material people read in the web world. Although I am not very sure what material the Gen Y reads if they ever read at all. Maybe social medias such as Facebook, Twitter, Instantgram and Wassapps are replacements to keep them updated what happening in their surrounding in realtime mode. For me, anything under the sky from the obvious politics and current events to new tech innovations, financial & business and farming.

These are few current issues that making headlines:

1. MYR currency is all time low against USD. It was trading at MYR 3.5 to 1 USD about 6 months ago.

2. Global Oil Prices. Dropped to USD45/barrel. Few months ago it was traded around USD 110/barrel.
3. Part of Malaysia is still hit by haze due to open burning for land clearing in Indonesia.

All are that that gloom and doom:

1. Burnt some grass at my Kebun to smoke-out the wasps that have been stinging me whenever I ventured to this little section of the Kebun. Sorry DOE, I know I know. I am not suppose to do open burning especially during this period i.e. Haze. Hey, time is luxury for me.

2. Daun tembaga suasa or it's scientific name Crinum asiaticum from my Kebun has produced flowers for the first time. And the plant has grown healthy after much love and care.

Lastly, let enjoy another oldies

Till next time. Bye

Passed 50 last year November 2014.  Not feeling old though. Feel much I could do and achieve for my family and career. Much more to contribute to the society in general.  But whatever left of my hair has been covered with "snow flakes",  had ACL surgery a year earlier which my knees are no longer what it used to be. Golf is being played in my mind only to achieve that elusive hole-in-one and people you meet start to call you uncle or pakcik. Don't they know I am not that old and they are not that young either.

Yes I have entered the magic number 50. The society has put it in middle age middle category with negative connotation mind you. But around the world we see world leaders that passed 50 and 60 and still at their prime. Obama at this point in time is aged 54 years and Angela Merkel (Chancellor of Germany) is 61. Baby face David Cameron is 48. Well he is close enough to be 50. Not bad being 50 huh !!??

The competitor to middle age is called Young Turks. Interestingly if you Google "young turks meaning" for definitions, there are whole list of websites offering definition. In my term these young turks are basically late 20-tees and mid thirties which are waiting to push the middle age bosses out so they could take over the higher hierarchy in an organization. Even worst they give new name to justify their intention that is The Old Guard. Reminiscence of era of cold war on Russian leaders.

Those who were married around age of twenties and remained committed to the spouse,  many will celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary. If you and your spouse lucky to be alive for another 25 years then you would be celebrating Golden Anniversary.  Any one dare to imaging Diamond Anniversary?

In the era of internet, smart phones and social media, you would read your friends either announcing their children marriage or birth of grandchild. You will also get invited to reunions e.g. School reunion and old ex company reunion. These events are getting more frequent at this age. News about your friend or their spouse passed away starts to trickling. No doubt it will increase in frequency as time goes by. However invitation for birthday celebration are almost nil.

I would like to take this journey of being 50 with my head high. No regrets of what has happened in the past, eager to explore new things and putting my thought as I see the world in this blog. It is a way for me to keep my sanity. It is also for my children and their children-children to see me in virtual world in the distance future.

So let the journey begins.
